The BIAN standard is built on an extension of the ISO20022 metamodel that is captured in UML. The BIAN design repository is implemented using NoMagic’s MagicDraw product. The extensions to the ISO model have been applied in a way where the content can be exported to any UML compliant environment with limit extensions. BIAN recognises recognizes that a wide range of existing and emerging standards and tools are now available. BIAN’s policy is to align to establish standards where possible and be open to different tooling environments. Tooling and alignment are active areas of research and selection for the upcoming release cycle.
