Can I use BIAN to help with M&A and outsourcing decisions?

Yes, but in order to leverage the BIAN standard to support enterprise management activities such as these it is often necessary to develop a “bank on a page” enterprise blueprint of the relevant divisions of the Bank. This selects, specializes and assembles the BIAN Service Domains (typically including the duplication of many of the Service Domains) into a blueprint or map that represents the operational and organization layout of the enterprise – see the Practitioner´s Guide Section on the M4Bank for more detail. Because the Service Domains represent static or enduring capabilities that make up the enterprise this model view is highly stable over time and defines a complete and non-overlapping view of the business. It is therefore a very powerful framework for overlaying existing resources, assessing performance and aligning solutions as is typically necessary in M&A and outsourcing initiatives.
